Pet transport to the UK requires compliance with several strict regulations to ensure the health and safety of the animals.
Here are the key points to keep in mind from Bulgaria to the United Kingdom
Each pet must have a PASSPORT & microchip implanted that meets ISO Standard 11784 or Annex A to ISO standard 11785. The United Kingdom also accepts AVID-9 and AVID-10 microchips.
The microchip must be implanted before the rabies vaccine is administered.
All pets must have an original Rabies Certificate or stamp in the passport signed by the vet. The Rabies vaccine must be at least 21 days old during the final health exam and endorsement. The pet must be at least 12 weeks old before the rabies vaccine is administered.
Dogs must be treated for tapeworms within 120 hours of arriving in the United Kingdom.

UK Health Certificate
Transporting your pet to the UK requires several important documents to ensure the health and safety of the animal. Here are the details you need to know:
UK Health Certificate: Your dedicated pet relocation coordinator will ornanise the standard Health Certificate with the accredited veterinarian in Bulgaria. The certificate must be signed in a different color than the certificate's printing, usually in blue ink. This certificate is valid for ten days from the date of issue by the official veterinarian until the date of the checks at the UK point of entry.
Customs & Official Importation
Since Brexit, taxes are now a key consideration when importing pets. Bulgaria requires taxes to be paid, and the UK also needs to determine if any taxes are owed on the importation. While private owners don’t need to pay import tax, anyone selling a dog—including charities—does. A declaration must be made, and the necessary fees paid. Rest assured, our services include handling all these arrangements and managing the administration of the required documents, so you don’t have to worry about it.
OUR COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE TO YOU SO YOU DO NOT NEED TO WORRY
We offer complimentary advice and a pet passport check service after you book with us.
We are happy to check scanned paperwork and advise on any incorrectly issued passports giving time for amendments to me made or new paperwork to be issued prior to pick up.
